HOW-TO:

Mixing:

8 lbs. pour-in-place urethane foam is mixed in a 1:1 ratio.
Mix only small amounts at a time (minimum mixture volume of 3 ounces and maximum of ½ gallon amounts of Part A and Part B for total of 1 gallon and wait at least 30 minutes between pours.
Mixing time is approximately 20 -30 seconds.
Working time is one minute.
The 8 lbs. pour foam will fill about 1/4 cubic foot per quart of mixed liquid at 72 F.
If the foam is mixed at a lower temperature, it will NOT expand to its maximum capacity.
If it is hotter than 72F, the 8 lbs. foam may expand very quickly and prevent a consistent expansion.
Always mix pour foam in clean plastic containers with clean plastic or metal mixing tools.
- Do not use a wax, paper or wood container or mixing tools because these materials contain moisture which will contaminate the foam!

Clean Up:

The “A” part of the foam cleans up with acetone and the “B” part with water.
Due to the adhesive quality of the foam, keep the mixed product off everything except the job itself.

Tips:

Everything (foam, tools, containers and ambient temperature) must be at 72F before you start using the foam.
If your workspace is colder than 72F, please keep the foam containers off the floor.
Heat closed containers in hot tap water if air temperature is lower than 65F.
Pour foam is very sensitive to humidity.
Humidity causes air bubble which result in a poor quality cured foam.
- Do everything possible to avoid getting moisture into the foam.
- This includes replacing the lids on containers immediately after use as well as not using pour foam on rainy and/or high humidity days.
Shake Part “B” well for 30 seconds before pouring.
Only mix small quantities of Part “A” and Part “B” at one time.
Do not vary the mix ratio with pour foam.
Do not use a drill to mix pour foam as it will result in premature curing and air bubbles.
Heat the cavity the foam is to be poured into, if it is cold to the touch.
Always wear a respirator or self –contained breathing apparatus and gloves when working with pour foam (A paper painter’s mask is not sufficient!)
Do NOT spray! This is NOT a sprayable foam.
Do NOT use with inflatables and/or canvas.

Q. How do I know when the 8# density foam is ready to be used?

Mix until it is creamy yellow/beige

Q. Can I reuse the 8# density foam once it is cured?

Pour foams cure into a hard, dense, Styrofoam-like texture that you can drill through, paint, etc. Re-use of cured pour foam would be using the hard foam in whatever space that you poured it into.

Q. How do I calculate how much of the 8# 2 gallon kit I need for my project?

You must calculate the volume of the cavity
For most projects, you have to calculate the cubic feet of your space that you want to fill with pour foam. Cubic feet: length x width x height.
For cylindrical shapes; πr2 x height
- Where π= 3.14 and r = diameter x 1/2
*If you did the math in inches, divide the final answer by 1,728 to get the cubic footage.
