Q. How can I extend the shelf life of the 8# pour foam?
Polyurethane pour foam has a six month shelf life. To protect pour foam during its shelf life, you can use an aerosol nitrogen blanket, which forms a protective barrier to prevent humidity contamination.
Q. Can I mix and work with the entire 10 gallon 8# density foam at one time?
No, you will want to do multiple pours by mixing half gallon increments of Part A and Part B for 1 gallon total. Please wait at least 30 minutes between pours at 70F to ensure the previous layer does not collapse when the next layer is poured.
Q. What is the best way to work with 8# density foam for larger projects?
- Make sure that you have correctly calculated the amount of 8# foam that you will need, using half gallon of 8# foam yielding half cubic foot for your calculations.
- Have everything (foam, tools, containers and space that you are pouring into) at 70F for maximum cure/expansion.
- Properly prepare the space/void/cavity that you will pour the foam into. Make certain that it is dry and that, if necessary, you have lined it with 5mil plastic to contain the pour foam.
